We have had our bounty of snow in Central Ohio to say the least! Frankly, I am becoming very weery! Navigating the roadways is never fun after a blast of winter, and doing so before the plows get the job done in the wee hours of the morning is a bit nerve wracking too. But, the bigger annoyance for me is the fact that I eat away my snow stress. It’s a criminal act, and comfort  food consumption should be a crime! I worked hard a month ago to lose a few pounds, cleanse and workout. Now, all of that work has been stolen from me by a heinous criminal that can be found on Paula Dean’s website! It’s taunts me, it pokes and prods me, and ultimately drags me into a world of high fat, grossly unhealthy consumption. It whirls me around into a vicious shame spiral: “It tastes so good!”…”I have to eat it!”…”It makes me happy!”…”Why did I eat that?”…”I need to stop!”… “I need to get in shape!”  But, the snow doesn’t  end and neither does my need for a little edible TLC.  Hurry Spring!  Until then, Paula Dean, what should I make for dinner?

The statistic to mull over today claims that 15% of women buy flowers for themselves on Valentine’s Day. Really? Aside from decorating the house before company visits, I never buy myself flowers. It doesn’t matter how single I am on Valentine’s Day either, I can’t see myself calling up a floral shop and sending myself flowers. Plus, my voice is fairly recognizable, so I don’t dare chance it!  But, I ask you, have you ever sent yourself flowers? Even more odd, did you surprise yourself when they came to the door? HA! Whichever way you celebrate the holiday, have a great one!

I am onne of those people who openly admits that reason I watch the Super Bowl is simply for the commercials; if a good game breaks out all the better! Last night the good game ended up the bigger draw for me, since many of  the commercials seemed to fall flat. There were a few sure-fire hits: The Betty White Snickers spot, The Doritos Kid and Mom’s Date Spot, The Oprah-Letterman-Leno clip, and my perenial favorites-The Etrade Baby spots.
